SONIC ritual

An immersive, multi-instrumental sound journey in a sacred space

The concept

Sonic Ritual emerged out of an inquiry into what the purpose and function of live music is today.

We believe music is far more than entertainment; it is a vessel for collective coherence, for healing, for creative inspiration, for prayer, for communion with something greater than ourselves.

The Ritual is an improvised performance, where the energy in the room is channelled through the music, making the audience an integral part of the sound journey creation.

The Container

We hold Sonic Rituals in sacred spaces - spaces that were designed in very specific locations and intended for music and collective presence.

They amplify acoustics and intentions; journeying together in these places feels extra special and we feel it also brings them back into relevance for modern culture.

The invitation

Sonic Rituals are an invitation to be deeply present with yourself, to bring intentions of inviting or release, to work with your own energy as we journey, and to be part of a new cultural experiment, where the lines between musician and audience blur and everyone is part of creating a shared collective experience.

Participants are welcome to lie, sit, move, dance, journal, meditate - to follow their energy and their intuition about how to allow the unfolding of the journey within their own system.

“It was a beautiful and rare experience. The blend of electronic sound, voice and instruments took me on a journey which was soulful and hypnotic. I relaxed deeply and very quickly.”

“This was a truly wonderful, transcendent experience. Being in St Mary’s church, Totnes, with its sublime acoustics, surrounded by beautiful medieval craftsmanship and a timeless serenity was the perfect location for this meditative musical journey.”

— Chris

“What a thoroughly Magical experience. Ben was completely tuned in to the energy of the group, and I am sure that everyone felt like he was playing just for them. All tention melted away. I will sleep well tonight :)) Thank you soooo much!”

— Annonymous

“I love the way the relational loop between you and the audience invites us to shape the music. An effortless, embodied music-led exploration of the inner terrain - absolute gold. I find your holding spacious and genuine too. Thanks Ben and Steph.”

— Charlotte

“The combination of sitting and dancing space was amazing, plus being able to roam the shrine areas - gorgeous. Also - the priest in shades at the back was a chefs kiss moment. The whole thing felt healing towards the church.”

— Michael

“A gorgeous, chilled evening of shared bliss listening to beautiful soundscapes. I especially loved the ‘darker’, deep base elements where the vibrations were felt.”

— Gillian

“A voice to so much that is unseen, cosmic, etheral, a channel to what is possible through the vehicle of sound ! Really interesting, dreams were a totally unexpected aspect!”

— Tansy

“The experience was like entering the marbled waiting room of heaven...almost a religious experience. Ben's music is cosmically, hypnotically, painfully beautiful.”

— Bianca

“Thank you for creating such a non-judgmental holding space for whatever needs to come through! I left feeling much more open and agile in how I felt, having walked in feeling quite disconnected from my emotions.”

— Annonymous
